Our primitive campground, John Swift's Lost Silver Mine, is nestled right in the heart of the Red River Gorge. Fabled in Appalachian folklore, explorer John Swift, set up several base camps throughout the Red River Gorge. So why not camp at one of them? His fabled lore claims he found a mine full of silver, but he unfortunately lost his vision and was never able to find it again. Many people come to the area just to hike around in search of the "Lost Silver Mine".

With just over 50 individual campsites we enough sites to offer something different for everyone. Each site varies in size with many large enough to fit multiple tents, hammocks or family members.
